Ruth King – ceramicist

Photographic archive produced and compiled as part of an Arts Council-funded project by Ruth King, ‘Kate’s Pond or Clay in the Vale of York’ 2007

I was commissioned by Ruth - also as part of my own technical development - to photographically catalogue her progress from sourcing clay from the neighbour's recently restored pond. This also included the making of artefacts by Ruth and the five members of the family who own the pond and firing the pieces in the sunken pit kiln at the site.

The images shown are representative of over eighty images provided for the exhibition 'Kate's Pond or Clay in the Vale of York' at Shandy Hall, Coxwold, North Yorkshire.
